Duluth Public Schools are changing school start times and are restructuring their school days.  This is an effort to ultimately save money while trying to do the best they can for students.

Our partners at The Northlands News Center are reporting that the school board made what the chairperson, Ann Wasson, called a "difficult" decision to restructure the middle day from seven periods to six.  This will cut down the number of elective courses students can choose.  The board also voted to change the start times of the schools.

All elementary schools will now start at 7:45 a.m., middle schools at 8:45 and high schools at 9:05.  The board took into account studies that show older students need more sleep than younger students.  My question is, what about the parents?

What do you think of these changes?
