According to Facebook, many of my friends are hunkering down and loving the fact that they are inside with family playing games, cooking, baking and getting ready to watch the Grammy's (Go Miranda & Blake!).  But, I received a great reminder from the Duluth Police Department, not only to limit travel on our treacherous roads, but about alternate side parking.  Stay safe, here's the details.

As of 6:15p, Sunday evening, the current Winter Storm in Duluth travel has become difficult and dangerous. Blowing and drifting snow have made driving conditions deteriorate rapidly.

The Duluth Police Department is asking that residents stay home and only travel if necessary.

Also, the alternate side parking system is in effect during the ENTIRE year and has resulted in better plowing service and increased safety for motorists.

You are reminded that the alternate side change-over is necessary for snowplowing and for the ability for emergency vehicles to be able get through on roadways; cars not in compliance WILL be ticketed and towed.

On street-weekly alternate side parking:For the alternate side parking system, a week is the period from Sunday 4 P.M. to Sunday 8 P.M.

Your cooperation is requested in minimizing the need for enforcement action.
