This year's Frozen Four lived up to its name, with sub-freezing temperatures more akin to January than April. Whether fans were watching the game at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul or at home in the Twin Ports, bundling up to head outside was very much a necessity as temperatures were in the twenties through the evening and wind chills made things feel even chillier.

While the temperatures and wind chills for Saturday night and into Sunday morning are worth paying attention to (especially considering that it is April), the Duluth National Weather Service office decided to have a little fun what could have been a run-of-the-mill alert about the cold temperatures by mixing in a nod to the UMD victory in the NCAA Men's Hockey National Championship. They did so by issuing a special weather statement that appeared as follows:
