Daylight Savings Time this Sunday; a Reminder to Turn Your Clocks Ahead an Hour

It’s this week-end, Daylight Savings time! If you are still confused, it’s SPRING ahead an hour. Another thing to remember is to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, yes, even if they are still good, change them. That way you know they’re fresh and ready to keep your family safe.
A Senator in FL, Darren Soto wants to put his State in a year-round Daylight Savings Time. He is campaigning and filed a bill so Florida would have extra hours of daylight. A petition is already collecting signatures in Washington to either end Daylight Savings time or have it year round.
One concern is that people, especially school-aged children are losing an hour of sleep, and the benefits of daylight savings is being questioned.
So, what are the benefits? If you don’t wake up at 3am to do a morning radio show, you wake up to light outside. Plus, think about the energy and money you’re saving by not having to turn your lights on so early in the day. It also allows extra time to exercise outside, just think, no more treadmill training for Grandma’s Marathon.
