It's scary to think that "just doing your job" could be so dangerous.  That's what happened to a Duluth taxi cab driver on Sunday and now the Duluth Police Department is asking for your help in locating the suspects.

On Sunday, October 14th the Duluth Police were called to 1st Avenue East and 8th Street after a report of a cab driver who had just been robbed.

The cab driver had picked up two in West Duluth and drove them to the Eastern part of the city.  While dropping them off, one suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded money. The second suspect started to choke the cab drive, but he broke free and ran. The suspect with the gun ran after him and fired a shot.  He caught up to the cab driver and took an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspects were last seen running eastbound on 8 th Street. As for the cab driver, they was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital for a minor injury from being choked.

Duluth Police are following up on several leads, but need your assistance if you have any information about the incident.   Anyone with any information is asked to call 911. The investigation is active and no further information is available at this time.
