Some good news for our local economy.  While we generally see a boost in jobs in the month of September with the return of college students, the 1.8% increase in jobs recently is even higher than normal.

The Northland's NewsCenter is reporting that jobs numbers released on Thursday from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) shows that the Duluth region gained 2,200 jobs in September.

Job numbers in September 2012 are even up 0.3% from last year in September.

Private sector employers in General Merchandise Stores, Transportation and Warehousing, Education and Health also gained jobs in September.
