It will only be for a couple of days and shouldn't affect the running of Grandma's Marathon, but if you use Michigan Street in downtown Duluth,  you should know about a planned road closure.

The construction will take place between 2nd and 3rd Avenues West on Monday, June 15, on Michigan Street in downtown Duluth.  The plan is to close the road towill be closed to traffic for about three days. Thanks to the city for the heads up as they once again move the heavy equipment in lace to remove the large crane being used for the construction of the Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) Multimodal Transportation Center.

I was sitting in Mayor Don Ness' office waiting to interview him for my "3 Memories of Mayor Don Ness" blog complete with humorous videos and noticed that the next Mayor will have a very different view.  Not of the Aerial Lift Bridge as Mayor Ness has for his two terms in office, but of the newly constructed maurices building.  That building, along with the new Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) Multimodal Transportation Center are coming along nicely.  It's exciting to watch the buildings progress!
