Dog Can Smell When 3-Year-Old’s Blood Sugar Is Too Low [VIDEO]

Ruby isn’t one of those dogs that can just roll over or fetch — this four-legged doctor can actually detect when his owner’s blood sugar is too high or too low.
Faith, age 3, has Type I diabetes and has to check her levels 30 times a day. What makes this process much easier for her and her mother is their dog’s unique sense of smell, which can sense blood sugar discrepancies sometimes up to 45 minutes in advance.
“Ruby has saved her life a hundred times,” says Faith’s mom. “I can’t even put it into words what it has meant for our family.”
Faith is pretty super too. How many 3-year-old’s do you know who could actually take their own blood sample?
