My wife last night said she got something for me for our anniversary.

"But it's in May?"

"No, the anniversary of our first date!"

"That anniversary is null and void after our marriage."

I lost that discussion.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but I thought once you got married that's the date you stick with.  We're going to take advantage of having two dates though, and I've already lined up a baby sitter and made plans.   But do I need to get her a gift?  Or is it just ok to bring her out for dinner?  I mean it was just Christmas, and I'm  ho ho ho holy out of money.

What do you think?

And in case you think I'm an insensitive jerk, I remember our first date quite well.  It was 6 years ago.  I got lost on the way to pick her up because my GPS sent me down the wrong road.  We went to Grizzly's for dinner by the mall.  I had steak, she had a wrap.  We then went to see "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" at Lakes 10 in Hermantown.  We both hated it, but were too nervous to say anything.  We then went up to Blue Max in Fish Lake and shared a pitcher of beer.  With the liquid courage in me, I kissed her in the parking lot.  I left my favorite pair of gloves on my tailgate and drove her home, losing those gloves for ever.

I love her, and I got over the gloves.
