I've talked about this before, but it's a common misconception that Northern Pike aren't worth keeping, or fishing for.  But honestly, it's not that hard to clean them right and get the y-bone out.  Any experienced fishing guide knows this, and they also know they taste pretty darn good.  (Sometimes, better than walleye... shocker!)

Recently the DNR said the state is close to exceeding its quota on Mille Lacs Lake within the next couple of weeks.  So the DNR is encouraging anglers to target the northern pike and Small mouth bass in Mille Lacs lake.  Here's more on the story from WDIO.

I always keep an eye out for an easier, new way to clean northerns.  I think I've found the best yet now.  Check this out from Sam Woods Outdoors.
