Across the state of Minnesota, preliminary numbers are showing that the deer harvest is down this year when compared to last year.

KBJR-TV is reporting that in the report released today, Minnesota hunters harvested 128,814 deer through the second weekend of the 2013 firearms season. Overall, antlered buck harvest is down 7% and antlerless harvest is down 5%.

It does appear the numbers are mostly due to a dramatic drop in the anterless harvest in Northeastern Minnesota, where there was a drop of 25 percent.
