Recently, Dierks Bentley released his new single 'Bourbon in Kentucky' with some help from the lovely Kacey Musgraves on vocals. After working with Musgraves in the studio, Bentley has been singing her praises in interviews.

If there's one thing you need to know about Musgraves, it's that she marches to the beat of her own drum -- especially when it comes to her career. Although the 'Merry Go 'Round' singer has been lumped into the country music category, she doesn't let genre norms limit her music to a particular style.

“Usually you go out there and try to get your foot in the door,” Bentley said about Musgraves (quote via GAC). “Then, once you kind of got some wiggle room, you really start defining who you are as an artist and going for some different things and some risky things. Her whole thing is to go big early; go big first! Go for it, and maybe it’ll help solidify a really hard-core following of fans that are looking for people that are going for things, trying stuff and not afraid to be who they are.”

Before releasing her current album, 'Same Trailer Different Park,' with Mercury Records, Musgraves released two albums on her own, and one through CDBaby. Although the 'Blowin' Smoke' hitmaker likes doing her own thing, she's written major hits for huge artists, like Miranda Lambert's 'Mama's Broken Heart.'

Bentley admitted that he's thrilled to have Musgraves' vocals on 'Bourbon in Kentucky.'

"I’ve got a lot of respect for that, and the fact that she would want to be a part of this song and lend her voice and her personality and who she is to this track, ‘Bourbon in Kentucky,’” he said. “It really means a lot to me.”

'Bourbon in Kentucky' is the first single from Bentley's upcoming album 'Riser.' Although there's no official release date, the album is expected to hit stores this fall.
