In just a few weeks, Dierks Bentley will raise a glass to his fans when he debuts his four-track ‘Country & Cold Cans’ EP. The disc — which was inspired by the popular title track and the wild and crazy concertgoers who supported Bentley’s 2012 tour of the same name — is slated to hit shelves in late August.

With a name that nods to cold beer and country tunes, Bentley can’t just release the EP without doing something fun to celebrate. Instead of a traditional release party, the ’5-1-5-0′ hitmaker will celebrate the new record by tailgating with college students at three different SEC schools.

Coined the Country and Cold Cans: Back to College Tour, Bentley will play his new music on a three-date run, and he’ll bring special guests the Cadillac Black along for the ride. If that’s not a perfect way to release an album about cold cans of beer, then we don’t know what is.

“We thought we’d celebrate the end of summer and back to school with an EP of new material that’s about cutting loose…it was really inspired by how young and crazy the fans on the Country & Cold Cans Tour were earlier this year,” Bentley said in a statement. “I’ve written a lot with Jaren, and we thought it would be fun to get the guys in my band and a couple of cases of beer and go see what happens in the studio. I’m really happy with the tracks, and I think our crowd will dig it.”

The three-date tour kicks off at the University of Georgia (8/20) and continues to the University of South Carolina (8/21) and the Grove at the University of Mississippi (8/22). Bentley will officially release the ‘Country & Cold Cans’ EP on August 21, 2012.
