Dierks Bentley says the yearly CMA Music Festival in Nashville captures the essence of where country music is at, and where the genre is headed. Few are more excited about performing than the 'Drunk on a Plane' singer. Fans will get to see his enthusiasm spill over on Aug. 5, during ABC's 'CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock' performance.

In a video exclusive to Taste of Country, Bentley explains why he's such a fan of CMA Fest. "This is a young, current, hip thing that's happening," he says, adding that the downtown Nashville venues capture the energy and vibrancy of the nearly week-long party.

"This is not, like, your grandfather's country music anymore."

"The CMAs are thinking about what they can do to make the experience better, and it's obviously working because (next year's) sells out like -- the second this one's over." The 2014 CMA Music Festival took place June 5-8.

Bentley performs his new song 'Drunk on a Plane' during the 90-second-long video. The three hour special begins at 8PM ET and includes performances from Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Thomas Rhett, Keith Urban, Jason Aldean, Hunter Hayes and many more. This is the 10th time ABC has broadcast the special, with each year proving to be a ratings success.
