For the last nine months I have had the honor of working with the Denfeld Cheer Team.  There are still a few basketball games and hockey play-offs left, but the last routine of the 2014-2015 cheer season closed snow week and was a routine that took great skill and concentration.

When I was a cheerleader in the 80's we didn't stunt.  Oh sure, we made a pyramid, but never attempted what the cheerleaders do now.  It takes athleticism, knowledge, skill, determination and focus.  I watched this talented team learn the routine and practice, practice, practice.   They took on last minute changes like pros and worked together to ensure everyone was comfortable with their part in the routine.

For those 8th graders that are looking to cheer as freshman at Denfeld next year, there will be a Parent Informational Meeting on Monday, April 13 at 6p in the Denfeld Gym.  We will explain the try-out schedule and what you can expect with the 2015-2016 cheer season.

Congratulations, Team!
