‘Dear Abby’ Creator Pauline Phillips Dead at 94

Pauline Phillips, better known to millions of people as the woman who created the ‘Dear Abby’ column, has died.
She was 94.
Phillips had been suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
‘Dear Abby’ debuted in 1956 and ballooned in popularity, eventually reaching 100 million readers each day. She would write the column for more than 40 years before handing the reins to her daughter, Jeanne.
Phillips’ twin sister was Ann Landers, an advice columnist in her own right, who passed away in 2002.
