With our announcement this week that James Taylor was returning to the Northland, I decided to use my Country Throwback to remember when James covered a Buddy Holly classic, and it became a top 30 hit on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

"Everyday" is a song written by Buddy Holly and Norman Petty, recorded by Buddy Holly and the Crickets on May 29, 1957 and released on September 20, 1957 as the B-side to "Peggy Sue".

Over the years, it has been covered numerous times, including a 1985 version done by James Taylor.  The James Taylor version would have success across several formats, including country where it would peak at number 26.

I've always like his version, which you can enjoy below.  Remember to listen to The Breakfast Club all next week as Ken and Cathy have chances for you to win James Taylor tickets starting on Tuesday.

Good Luck!
