This week the April 15th income tax deadline arrived, so who better to honor with my Country Throwback than Willie Nelson?

In 1990, the Internal Revenue Service seized most of Nelson's assets, claiming that he owed $16 million in taxes.  It turns out that his accountants hadn't paid taxes in years, so Willie grabbed his guitar and recorded the stripped down "The IRS Tapes: Who Will Buy My Memories" to raise funds.

The well reviewed album ultimately generated $3.6 million for the IRS, and here is the title track.

Hopefully you got some money back this year, but if not at least you didn't owe a Willie Nelson sized amount.
