Country Throwback Goes Back 27 Years with Shenandoah

We're in the home stretch of April and, for some reason, my mind has wandered to 1987, my first year at UMD.  I had a good friend who loved Shenandoah and she would always make me listen to them whenever we hung out. 

"The Church On Cumberland Road" was sitting on top of the country chart this week in 1987, and it would spend a total of 2 weeks as the number on song in the country.
