As the host of B105's Solid Gold Saturday show, I mourn along with the country music world and Kitty Wells fans.  She was considered the first female country superstar.  Her family say she passed peacefully at her home at age 92, after complications from a stroke.

Her song, "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels", in 1952 was the first number one country song by a woman soloist on the country music charts.  That's a huge accolade to her name!

Some of her other hits include: "Making Believe", "The Things I Might Have Been", "Release Me", "Amigo's Guitar", "Heartbreak USA", "Left to Right" and a version of "I Can't Stop Loving You".
