Combat Flu Season By Making Your Own Hand Sanitizer

It's cold and flu season (and has been for a while).  We heed all the warnings.  Wash your hands, cough and sneeze into your elbow instead of your hands and stay home if you are feeling ill.  Of course, people are also using an abundance of hand sanitizer, which makes your hands dry out.  But, I found one that is alcohol free that you can make at home from jill at onegoodthingbyjillee.com. 

This is going to be a money saver for my co-host Ken because he's a germ-a-phobe and douses himself in it daily.  (NOT kidding)!  Essential oils are the IN thing now and this alcohol free home made hand sanitizer utilizes several of my favorites.  The cool thing is that by being alcohol free that means it won't dry out your hands!

Alcohol-Free Homemade Hand Sanitizer

• •6 oz. of water
• •2 Tbsp of Aloe Vera Gel
• •10 drops each of rosemary, cinnamon, eucalyptus & clove bud essential oil
• •20 drops of either lemon, wild orange or grapefruit essential oil – pick your favorite.

That's it, that's all you need!  Plus, it's easy to make!!!

I took the labels off a liquid soap bottle that I had at home and washed it out really good.  (side note:  don't just wash it in the dishwasher, it makes LOTS of suds).  Put the water, aloe vera gel and you favorite essential oils in (smells so good), put the top on tight and shake well.

It's ready to use in the regular fashion by rubbing a small amount onto your hands.  Repeat often.  Hope it helps to keep you and your family healthy without dry hands.
