This week's Country Throwback features the unmistakable tenor voice of Collin Raye.  This song was a #1 hit for Collin in 1998, but the story of who wrote the song and why is just as good.

Prior to recording the song 'I Can Still Feel You', he had dated songwriter Kim Tribble.  After breaking up, Kim wrote this song about her relationship with Collin.  He didn't know why the song had been written when he heard a demo of it and decided to record it.

Imagine her surprise when Kim heard her song that she wrote about an ex-boyfriend on the radio, being sung by that ex-boyfriend!

Since both enjoyed a #1 song, I think it turned out just fine.
