Cole Swindell's new Down Home Sessions III EP includes five songs about love and love lost, and fans can hear the lead track "You've Got My Number" during this Taste of Country exclusive tease.

The uptempo country cut is among the finest on Swindell's new EP, out Oct. 28, but available for pre-order at iTunes now. It's a country-rocker with an '80s rock bent, reliant on Swindell's sharp and poignant storytelling. He's a guy hoping his phone lights up with a girl he met on the line.

"You got my number / But you ain't calling me," Swindell sings.

Fans will also find the ultimate bad pickup line song and a vivid, warm and familiar love tune from the front of his truck. Taste of Country will premiere another of the five songs on Swindell's Down Home Sessions III EP next week. The singer says these aren't just songs that didn't make his last studio album — it's a chance for him to share some of the great songs written by others that might never be heard otherwise, and a chance for him to experiment.

A second song Swindell shared with ToC readers is called "Chevrolet DJ." The mid-tempo love song finds the singer in the front of his truck. "It's like you know what you're doing to me / Every time you press play / You've got me falling in love / My little Chevrolet DJ," he sings. Hear that one below.

Swindell's Down Home Tour will begin on Oct. 26. He's excited to be partnering with CMT on the tour, as those who've done so previously (Thomas Rhett, Kip Moore) have done quite well. "These songs, this tour is strictly for the people that as a fan of me like I was Dierks Bentley in college, if he'd have released an EP or anything I'd have been the first to get it," he says.

In January, Swindell and Bentley will team up for the What the Hell Tour.
