A Cloquet family was due for their baby to be born in September. When the umbilical cord quit working, doctors had to do an emergency c section to save the baby's life at just 26 weeks into the pregnancy.

Roxanne Wood and her fiancee Ryan Worgren were told that their son Beau wasn't guaranteed to survive the procedure, but it was his only chance to live.  When he was born, he weighed just one pound, two ounces. He wasn't much bigger than a dollar bill.

Beau still faces an uphill battle as he has a weakened immune system and must remain in the hospital for some time.  According to FOX 21 news, hospital care costs for premature babies can reach over $50,000.

A gofundme page has been set up to help support the family.
