The warm weather has everything thinking of spring cleaning, even the City of Duluth. They will be getting a crew together this Thursday and start the much needed street cleaning of dirt and debris that has collected over the winter.

This Thursday, May 12, the City of Duluth crews will start working at 7am sweeping the parking lanes of 1st, 2nd and 3rd Streets.  Streets will be marked as “No Parking” for the duration of the project which they hope will be done the same day.  However, we're expecting rain through Thursday night according to Dana Zimmer, our WDIO Storm Team Meteorologist so that, along with possible breakdowns or unforeseen delays could change the completion date.  Oh, and make sure you obey those signs, because ALL cars parked in work zone areas during the indicated times will be ticketed and towed. That will NOT be a great way to end your week!

Here's the rest of the skinny, crews will start on East 3rd Street sweeping from 21st Ave East to Mesaba Avenue. Then they'll turn their sights to tackle East 2nd Street between 12th to 24th Ave East and finally East 1st Street between 21st and 6th Ave East.

Remember, residents are asked to remove their cars from the streets of the project area in order for staff to complete the sweeping.  YOU WILL WANT TO DO THIS TO AVOID GETTING A TICKET.

As always, the City thanks the public for their patience and cooperation.
