Interested in law enforcement?  Before you enroll in a college course, get a taste of the real thing and volunteer your time to be in the Explorers Post with the Duluth Police Department.  One stipulation is that you must be between the ages of 15-20.  If you aren't interested in volunteering, but want to learn more about the responsibilities of our police officers, there is an 11 week course that answers all your questions, both in a classroom and in the field.

The Duluth Police Explorers Program is looking for new members! On Sept 8th at 6pm at the Public Safety Building 2030 North Arlington Avenue in Duluth, the advisors for the Duluth Police Explorers Program will host an introductory meeting to explain more about the program and answer any questions for interested kids and parents.

Police Explorers learn a variety of topics in law enforcement, including handcuffing, traffic stops, crime scene investigation, and domestic crisis intervention, and lots more!

To become an explorer, you have to be between 15 and 20 years old. If you are over 18 and out of high school, you have to have the intent to enroll in a law enforcement program.

Meetings are on every other Sunday from 6pm-8:30pm during the fall and every Sunday from 6pm-830pm during the spring, all leading up to the state conference in April in Rochester, MN.

Call or email with any questions! Officer Amber Peterson 218-213-1303
