Chester Park Is Looking For Volunteers To Plant Trees Sunday

After the number of trees lost to flooding, it’s a perfect time to plant new trees in in the area. The Alaska Wilderness League, in partnership with the City of Duluth, will be planting 32 white pines in Duluth’s Chester Park and they need your help.
The Northland’s NewsCenter is reporting that Duluth was chosen by the Alaska Wilderness League for one of the planting sites specifically because of the number of trees that were lost in June’s flooding.
Volunteers are needed to plant the trees from 1p.m. – 4p.m. at Chester Park; all ages and no experience are needed for the event.
Volunteers are encouraged to bring work gloves and spare shovels, although, tools and equipment will be provided.
