Monday, July 4

Parade starts at 9:30 AM!

Parade lineup: 8:30am at the ballpark by Franklin school.

Everyone is invited to march or ride in the parade. Try it! It's a whole new way to see the 4th of July!

Prizes for Floats and Marchers and $5 for each person under 18 who walks the parade route or rides a bike etc.

Kids Games, Races and Coin Hunt immediately following the parade, events will be held at Monroe Park-- 1 block west of Grant Ave on Monroe Street.

All children ages 2-12 are invited to participate in kids games, races & coin hunt and two special fun houses!

VIRGINIA, MN:

In Virginia, MN on the 4th at Olcott Park at 7th Street North and 9th Avenue West festivities begin with the Calithumpian Children's

Parade, followed by fun games for everyone with prizes galore.

A food concession is available with burgers, brats, hot dogs and soft drinks.

TOWER/SOUDAN, MN:

In the Tower–Soudan area their 4th of July Celebrations will consist of the following:

Saturday, July 2 – live music 8:30 – 12:30, Tower

Sunday, July 3– Community picnic at Breitung Recreation Area (Soudan).

Waterslide and bouncer from noon – 4 PM, free picnic from 2–4 PM, patriotic concert beginning at 4:30 PM. Bring your lawn chair.

Live music 6 – 10 PM, Tower

Monday, July 4 – Pancake Feed at the American Legion Hall from 6:30 – 10:30 AM.

Parade begins at 11 AM – theme is Made in America.

Live music and food all over town following the parade.

HIBBING, MN:

A 4th of July Parade in Side Lake, MN, (north of Hibbing, will start at noon on Sturgeon Road in front of Side Lake Chapel and proceeds down McCarthy Beach Road to Highway 5.

ELY, MN:

In Ely they will have the following events:

Ely's Fourth of July Celebration –Whiteside Park

11am–4pm– Picnic in Whiteside Park. Grilled hot dogs, brats, sloppy joes, BBQ pork sandwiches, corn on the cob, & beverages.

12:45– Fly–Over (time approx.)

1 PM Parade Begins.

1:30 pm– Activities and games in the park.

2:30 pm–Family Fun Races –for all ages

2nd Annual Fourth of July Run/Walk 8 am

Join in on the fun on July 4th when Ely hosts the Second Annual Fourth of July Run/Walk around Miners Lake on the 4 mile scenic Trezona Trail.

10PM–FIREWORKS

DULUTH, MN:

Duluthians and visitors can enjoy a FREE Independence Day community celebration with Minnesota's largest fireworks display and a special patriotic performance by the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra again headlining this year's festival.

Gates open at 12 noon with food & crafts, and the Mighty Thomas Shows Carnival open for rides, games and family fun.

FourthFest has the area's finest food and craft vendors with everything from brats and hamburgers to Australian battered potatoes, Bar–B–Que, pizza, ice cream, mini–donuts, gyros, Asian cuisine, and much, much more, with beverages from Budwieser, Coca–Cola, and the Fitgers Brewhouse.

The bands start on stage at 12:30PM and play continuously throughout the day till the Fireworks at 10:10PM.

With it's full company of 60 musicians performing an Independence Day program in the tradition of the Boston Pops and John Philip Sousa, featuring patriotic tunes, an emotional tribute to veterans who serve our country, and a slam bang finish of the 1812 Overture and the Stars and Stripes Forever.

At 8:10 pm there will be a special F–16 flyover by the 148th Fighter Wing of the Minnesota Air National Guard.

The fireworks display presented by Visit Duluth, the city's convention and visitor's bureau, begins at 10:10 pm.

SUPERIOR, WI:

In Wisconsin, Superior will also be hosting their own Fourth Of July Celebrations.

This year's theme for their Independence Day celebrations is 'Grand Old Flag'. This year they will have a contest for the best floats, first, second and third place prizes.

Patriotic Parade at 11:00am begins at Mortorelli Drive and Belknap Street, along Belknap to Ogden Avenue, along Ogden Avenue to Broadway.

Superior Singers at Pilgrim Lutheran Church – 1:00pm

Tower Avenue Car Show at 3:00 p.m.

Hosted by the City of Superior – Listen to the band, "The Bugs" at the Fairgrounds – 7pm–10pm

Fireworks at dusk (approx 10:15pm) at Head of the Lakes Fairgrounds.

ASHLAND, WI:

In Ashland, Wisconsin they'll have a 4th of July Carnival located near the Bay Area Civic Center in Ashland.

A parade will start at 11am, downtown Ashland; an Ice Cream Social will be held from 10am–1pm.

On the courthouse lawn they'll be serving up ice cream, and brats/hot dogs from the Lions Club, from 10am until 2pm.

The Ashland Historical Society will be doing a Cemetery Walk at St Agnes Cemetery from 2–4p.m.

Chequamegon Bay Band Concert at Memorial Park at 8pm;
