I should really look into volunteering when it comes to gardening.  I might learn something.  I even had an air fern that died in my house.  HOW does THAT happen?  Don't they only need air?  The University of Wisconsin Extension Program is looking for volunteers to help with their Catlin Green Garden Prep Day, can you lend some time and talents?

The Catlin Green Garden is at the Catlin Court Apartments at North 5th Street and Catlin Avenue. Just look for signs that will guide you to where they're working.

They plan to work this upcoming Saturday, May 30. Volunteers are needed and welcome to help prep the garden beds for planting. You won't be working alone, there will be experienced gardeners to accomplish weed management/removal and general garden prep. They plan to begin at 11:00am and wrap up at 3:00pm. Even if you can't stay the whole time, feel free to come for any amount of time you are available.  Oh, and if there is rain the event will be rescheduled if it's heavy.  If they have to postpone it, the rain date is set for Sunday, May 31.

They do have some tools to lend, but if possible, please bring your own work gloves, hand tools, shovels, rakes and hoes. If you have questions, you can call the Douglas County Master Gardening Coordinator at (715) 395-1515.

Thank you in advance for considering to help with the project and lend your time and talents.  It is much appreciated by the gardeners and the community.
