Pokemon Go is the latest craze, and it doesn't take long for you to find people walking around playing it.  That's especially true near the Lake Superior zoo.  The Zoo is a Pokestop, which is a place you go as part of the game.  This Saturday, the zoo invites players to come and catch their Pokemon characters in a safe and friendly environment.

My daughter who is now 22 was into Pokemon years ago.  I'm still holding on to the Pokemon coin that she had hoped would be a collectors item someday.  Who knew that Pokemon would resurface and take the world by storm?  While I encourage you to enjoy the frenzy while it lasts, there are a few things you need to think about where safety is concerned.

I was visiting a friend the other day and as we walked up the stairs I commented on the odd shape of her light bulb.  She said that she had just put it in and as she turned it on, it flashed on and off in a very deliberate way.  We wondered why and she tried it again and again.  Each time, it flashed twice.  Have you seen this?

For months I've seen the free upgrade to Windows 10 box pop up on my computer.  I'm running Windows 7 on my laptop that I've had for a few years, and skipping ahead to Windows 10 sounds kind of enticing.  They say it's free, so what could be wrong with that?   Well for some people it may make sense, for others like me it doesn't.

Flooding from our recent Spring snrain (snow+rain) storm has caused phone issues in Carlton County.  They have determined the issue is a break in a fiber optic line.  Repairable?  Yes, however, at this time the area that needs to be repaired is underwater and that's compounding the problem.  Crews are working on the situation.

Most if not all area schools were closed on Wednesday, March 16 due to a powerful Spring winter storm that was to hit the region.  On Thursday, March 17, the Cloquet School District will be closed for a different kind of hit, a computer virus.
