Halloween Movie Tip #11: In Space No One Can Hear You Scream [VIDEO]

There are a lot of bad horror movies set in space ("Jason X", anyone?).  There is one reason that so many space horror movies were made, and that reason is "Alien".  Released in 1979, the movie tells the story of a commercial towing spaceship, called Nostromo. The ship is carrying its seven-member crew in back to Earth in stasis.  The ship's computer awakens the crew when it receives a transmission of unknown origin.  This sets off a horrifying chain of events and introduces us to a legendary monster.  The great cast is lead by Sigourney Weaver and the movie does a great job building suspense.  This is truly a classic that you should revisit.  It's also a good idea to check out the sequel "Aliens", which was directed by James Cameron.

Halloween Movie Tip #10: Watch This Epic Of Imagination And Warfare [VIDEO]

The most imaginative movie on my list is "Pan's Labyrinth", which is a times an amazing movie and at times a very brutal one.  It takes place during the waning days of the Spanish Civil War, and the war aspects of the film are as tough as any war movie.  Then there's the central figure and story, a beautiful young girl who uses her imagination to escape the horrors of her life.  The images this conjures up are very memorable.  But is it all just her imagination or is it something more?  "Pan's Labyrinth"  is definitely worth your time.

Halloween Movie Tip #9: See The Lovely Nicole Kidman In A Big Creepy House [VIDEO]

I like a good ghost story with a little mystery and "The Others" is a nice recent addition to the genre.  I won't give away any of the surprises, but if you want a quietly paced story to watch in the dark this will do the trick!

Get Freaked For Halloween With “The Walking Dead”

I've heard a good amount of buzz about this show for the past year, but I didn't actually sit down and watch it until the other day.  I saw it on Netflix and thought I would give it a try.  In two days, I watched the first 3 episodes

Halloween Movie Tip #7 – Watch Richard Gere Deal With Psychic Visions And Entities! [VIDEO]

'The Mothman Prophecies' isn't your typical horror movie, but I think it is a pretty effective thriller with some very creepy elements.  Richard Gere plays a reporter who loses his wife which starts a chain of odd events.  He is ultimately drawn to a small West Virginia town to investigate a series of odd events, including the appearance of a bizarre entities.  The film claims to be based on actual events that occurred between November 1966 and December 1967.  Enjoy, and please pay attention to your psychic visions!

“Real Steel” Is The Best Boxing Movie To Come A Long In A While

I love boxing movies.  I've seen a lot of them, and in the last few years I really haven't found one that's as fun as Real Steel.  Fun is the keyword.  It's got a good story line, but it's not so deep and troubled that you want to kill yourself before you even get in the ring

Halloween Movie Tip #2 – Watch The Dr. Pepper Guy Turn Into A Werewolf!

This movie recommendation to get you in the mood for Halloween is a movie my dad brought me to when I was probably too young to see it and I thought it was fantastic then.  It's 'An American Werewolf In London'.  I recently watched it again and despite some special effects that look a little dated (although at least they aren't CGI!) it holds up pretty well.  The movie stars David Naughton, who at the time was best known for doing Dr. Pepper commercials, and Griffin Dunne. They are friends traveling through London when they end up in a place they were warned to avoid and then all the trouble begins.  An interesting thing about this movie is it was written and directed by John Landis, who at the time was best know for comedies like 'Animal House' and 'The Blues Brothers''.  Michael Jackson liked the effects in this movie so much he hired Landis to direct his full length video for 'Thriller'.  Enjoy and remember not to confuse this movie with the piece of crap 'American Werewolf In Paris' which was released years later.

6 Catchiest Country Songs [VIDEOS]

This morning on the Breakfast Club, Cathy and I were trying to figure out which country song is the catchiest. We had listeners call in and also answer our question on facebook. In order for it to be a "cathy" song, it has to be a song that everyone knows, and something you can tap your toe to

ABC’s Pan Am Shows Some Promise

Last night ABC debuted the pilot episode of Pan Am.  From what I can tell from the first episode, it mostly follows the beautiful flight attendants that were the face of Pan Am back in the 1960's, with obviously some historical tie ins

Life Simplified? Heinz Dip & Squeeze Packets

I'll admit it.  I get frustrated trying to open those tiny little packages of ketchup.  Usually end up trying to tear it open with my teeth, resulting in a squirt of ketchup in my mouth, or down the front of my new white, button-down-the-front shirt.  Life has been simplified by Heinz, with their new Dip and Squeeze packets.  Why didn't they come up with this sooner?
