Will they stay or will they go?  Looks like we will know this year the fate of the stadium and, ultimately, the Minnesota Vikings.  It's good to set dates so it just doesn't linger out there forever, right?

Jared Allen Rips City Of Detroit As Vikings Prepare To Hurt Detroits Playoff Hunt

Despite the Vikings epic bad year, Jared Allen is still playing fantastic football on the field.  Of course, Jared also isn't afraid to speak his mind and joke around.  One thing that came out this week, just before their game Sunday against the Lions, is how much Jared hates the city of Detroit.

Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen may be suffering through a 2-10 season so far, but he's not letting it affect his dynamic play … or his sense of humor. The man who recently threatened to punch former teammate Ray Edwards "square in the weiner" during a game was very much in form through this last week as the Vikings prepared to take on the Detroit Lions.

Derek Boogaard Died Of A Brain Disease Linked To Getting Hit In The Head

The New York Times is doing a series about the life and death of for Wild bruiser Derek Boogaard.   It turns out the continued hits he took while fighting may have lead directly to his addictions and ultimately his death.  You can read part of that series below.  Should the NHL take this information and look into their fighting policy?
THROUGH THE NIGHT and into the next day, as the scrolls across the bottom of television screens spread the news of Derek Boogaard’s death last May, the calls of condolences came, one after another.

Among them was a call from a stranger, first to Joanne Boogaard in Regina, Saskatchewan, then to Len Boogaard in Ottawa. It was a researcher asking for the brain of their son.

Dayton, Legislators: Maybe Watching A Vikings Game Would Help Get Everyone On The Same Page

Hey, whatever it takes to get this stadium issue resolved right?  I picture a bunch of guys in Polo shirts and Dockers watching a game together.  Wonder if they will have beer and nachos?  What I really think they should do is watch a game together at the Metrodome.  Then they will see the passion of the fans inside and outside of the stadium and how busy nearby businesses are for the game.

Maybe if everyone just sat down and watched a Minnesota Vikings game things would work out.

Sounds like Governor Mark Dayton understands that having a professional team and a stadium is about way more than just building a playground to get an owner rich.  It's about long term state revenue, jobs and community.  Whether this leadership actually leads to a solution remains to be seen, but it's a start.

Report: Christian Ponder Named Vikings Starter For Sunday

Not exactly a shock, I would have been more shocked if McNabb was named the starter.  The Vikings have nothing to lose and they need to see if Ponder can play as they look to their future.  What better way to get introduced to the league than by playing the Super Bowl champs.  What do you think, is Ponder the future?
