This weekend a group of us did quite a bit of wood cutting. It was a beautiful weekend and this time of year is perfect. A lot of people don't know this, but the St. Louis River right here in Duluth and Superior has some of the best walleye fishing you'll find anywhere. I've been excited about fishing opener and watching videos on YouTube. I found this one that was shot last October on MidWest Outdoors. Check out the video to see what you can catch on the St. Louis River!

Plastic and trash continually pollute Lake Superior, so the Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve and the Environmental Services Division of Public Works for the City of Superior are seeking volunteers Saturday to help protect the great lake.

Minnesota’s stream trout season opens tomorrow, April 16, and with a weekend warm-up on the way, anglers should find good conditions and excellent fishing around the state, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
