New in Theatres

In its second week of release, ‘Puss In Boots,’ the Antonio Banderas-voiced swashbuckling feline from the ‘Shrek’ franchise, pulled in $33 million in milk money to again take the top spot at the box office this weekend.

It's an unlikely pair, Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton, so it will make for a good movie with outrageous humor.  It's called "Joyful Noise" and will be in theaters early next year.

This weekend’s new films at our local Marcus Theatres include a timely tale of revenge against a greedy rich guy, and the latest in a movie franchise beloved by users of, shall we say, “recreational herbs.”

The swashbuckling feline from the ‘Shrek’ franchise, ‘Puss In Boots,’ still has plenty of lives to spare after its weekend haul of $34 million, putting it at the top of the charts in its first week of release.

‘Paranormal Activity 3,’ the third installment in the horror film franchise, received a warm welcome at the box office this weekend, earning $54 million and a spot at the top of the charts in its first week of release.

With two sequels and a remake, this weekend’s movie premieres at our local Marcus Theatres may not appeal to fans of completely new material, but they should make those who enjoyed the originals very happy.

Whether you want to laugh, dance or just be scared, one of this weekend’s new movies at our local Marcus Theatres should have something just for you. In ‘The Big Year,’ Owen Wilson, Jack Black and Steve Martin star as three obsessive bird watchers duking it out to see who can spot the most species in a given year.
