A Hummingbird Clearwing Moth Freaked Me Out in My Own Yard, Other Sightings in the Northland

With the excessive heat we've had in the Northland the flowers in my yard have started to get crispy.  I was out Sunday evening picking off the ones that I knew couldn't be revived.  This critter flew up next to me and started drinking nectar from the flowers and it was NOT afraid of me.  Ken tells me his dad just saw one of these for the first time in his yard last week.  Are we being infested?

The City of Duluth Makes Street Tree Planting Affordable by Sharing the Cost with Residents to Expand the Urban Forest

Last week the mosquitoes were so bad in our backyard that we were forced into the house.   We couldn't spend more than 30 seconds outdoors without at least 1 mosquito bite.  More than a few minutes outside, and we were doing a rendition of riverdance trying to swat the bugs.   I decided action needed to be taken, so I headed to the store and purchased OFF Backyard Control, not sure if it would help.  I figured at about $9 a bottle it was worth the risk.
