Lights Out For Duluth’s Aerial Lift Bridge During Earth Hour

If you've never stopped to appreciate the beauty of our gorgeous bridge landmarks, you should.  Not just the Aerial Lift Bridge, but the Richard I. Bong too.  Not only during the day, but all lit up at night, it's beautiful and I'm sure a delight for our tourists.  However, to go globally green, we need to turn the lights off and that's exactly what will happen during Earth Hour.  Here's a definition of Earth Hour.

Parents Find Duluth Transit Authority’s Stroller Rule Trying

The DTA is facing scrutiny for their stroller policy as it is an inconvenience for some parents.  They require that all strollers be folded and placed under the seat to keep the aisle clear for emergencies and other passengers.  The issue, as you will read, is about safety.  That doesn't make it any easier for parents who don't have strollers that are easily folded up.  In other cities, such as Minneapolis, strollers are required to be folded before a passenger even boards the bus.

Here are my thoughts.  As a parent of two young children, I can empathize with the parents who are bothered by this policy.  However,

Warm Weather Means An Early Start To Allergy Season

If you suffer from allergies, this news is hardly a shock.  I never had any allergies until I got older, but last week my symptoms began.  Hopefully that means they will be over earlier this year too, right?

A mild winter that ended with a flourish of warm weather was a welcome surprise for many Americans. But for the 25 to 35 percent of people who suffer from hay fever, the early arrival of warm weather meant an unusually early start to allergy season.

Law Firm Fires 14 Employees For Wearing Orange Shirts

Stories like this drive me crazy.  Getting fired for wearing certain colored shirt?  Even if it was a protest, which it doesn't appear to be, who cares?  It's a shirt.  Usually, when a company flexes their muscle in such a way it reveals a major interpersonal weakness on their behalf.

They weren't wearing sagging pants or revealing clothing. But dressing in an orange shirt is apparently enough to get fired at one Florida law firm, where 14 workers were unceremoniously let go last Friday.

Pope Benedict Orders Up His Own Personal Cologne

Well, it appears the Pope is a real mister fancy-pants!  He has his very own cologne made secretly so you can't smell like him. Do you think this scent sounds good?  I still want a beer made for me 'David Drew Brew'.  Thinking a bright pilsner with a kick and proceeds could help St Jude.  Know a good brewer?

One of the most important religious figures in the world, Pope Benedict XVI, has now joined the ranks of Sting and Madonna in receiving his own personal fragrance
