We've received word that there will be approximately 80 soldiers returning home Wednesday!  The majority are from Crazy Troop, but other units are expected.  They would love to see the community line the streets with banners and 'Welcome Home' signs as they drive into Cloquet.

Are Nice People Born That Way?

Are kindness and generosity learned behaviors, or are they genetic?

A new study says it could be a little of both, largely dependent on how we view the world.

Best Buy Promises To Release Findings Of Inquiry Into Former CEO

I mentioned on my show today that former Best Buy CEO Brian Dunn resigned under suspicious circumstances.  There was talk that Dunn, who is married, was having a relationship with a 29-year-old woman who worked for the company.  However, as this article points out, there has to be more to this story because of the legal experts the company has hired to investigate his behavior.

Clear Your Property Of Food Sources Because Nuisance Bear Complaints Start In Spring

You don't have to be out in the middle of the woods to have a bear encounter, as we all know.  Bears have hibernating and now that they are awake and it's time to eat!  As you can see, the DNR is starting to see more complaints about bears in the Northland.  While the bears aren't looking for trouble, it can still be intimidating to have them in your yard.

Your best best bet is to make sure your property is clear of food and make sure when you put your garbage out that it is full contained and not hanging out for our furry friends to smell.

Tax Deadline Day Can Be Deadly On US Roads

This is your last full week to get those taxes done.  I'd get them done now and then maybe stay off the road!  Since April 15th falls on a Sunday, you do get a little extra time as taxes need to be postmarked by midnight at April 16th.  It's a very stressful time for many who wait until the last minute for various reasons.  This stress leads to a hurried run to the post office that, as it turns out, leads to an increase in road fatalities at tax time.  Well, this report should make the stress of filing taxes even better!  Don't panic, if you aren't done yet you have time.

With Early Motorcycle Season Here, Let’s Refresh Safety Tips [VIDEO]

Every time I get on my bike I always realize that what I am about to do can be dangerous.  So far it's worth the risk, as it is something that I enjoy very much.

When Is The Minnesota Fishing Opener? Perhaps A Week Early This Year

This amendment would only impact this year.  It is now in the hands of Governor Mark Dayton to sign.  Proponents of the bill say that it avoids a Mother's Day conflict with the Minnesota opener and it takes advantage of the warmer weather the state has experienced lately.  Opposition comes primarily from resort owners who say this short notice is causing them stress in preparation and meeting customers needs.

What do you think?  Do you support having the Minnesota opener moved up a week this year or do think the state should leave things as they are?

Ticks Season Is Coming: They’ll Bug You This Spring

The weather hasn't been great lately, but it was enjoyable to have a record setting March across the Northland.  The good news was the warmth and sunshine.  The bad news was an early allergy season and now, an early tick season.

We are well trained in the area to be aware of ticks and the health risks they can cause if not found in a timely manner.  My mother suffered from Lyme Disease and
