<p>It's been 77 years since the 804 foot long German Airship <a href="http://www.history.com/topics/hindenburg"><em>Hindenburg</em></a> crashed and burned in Lakehurst, New Jersey on May 6, 1937.  There were 97 passengers, 36 of them perished in the disaster and it marked the end of the use of rigid airships in commercial air transportation.  It used hydrogen gas as fuel, but, according to History.com it was originally suppose to use helium gas.  Here is real footage of the Hindenburg disaster.</p>
