Smartphone use is disgustingly taking over our lives. As families, we sit on the couch staring at the phone in our lap, instead of conversing with each other. When you crawl into bed at night, often your companion is your smartphone. Not only can it take a toll on your relationships, but also your health!
Heart disease is often referred to as a "silent killer" because so many people don't realize they're at risk or have cardiovascular health issues. The malady kills about 2,200 Americans every day, making heart disease deadlier than all forms of cancer combined. And yet, there are still so many myths about heart disease floating around.
Experts will tell you that being active and getting 30 minutes of moderate exercise five times a week will improve your health. Active people tend to be fitter and generally enjoy better health. But if you're concerned about your risk of heart disease due to past issues or a family history, there are ways that exercise can help reduce that risk.
I can honestly say I've only witnessed a live moose in the wild once in my life. It was just outside of Remer, MN on our way back from Walker. He was standing in the ditch near the road lazily chewing his cud not really caring that we had stopped to gawk at him. I guess we were gawking because you just don't see that animal out in their natural habitat very often.
Whenever Matt and I get together we talk about food, so this time was no different. We got together at Do North Pizza to talk Pizza, Food, and a cool Dessert. The owner, who claimed he was camera shy, keeps appearing on camera.
When I think back to the vaccinations I got as a child I don't remember my parents having a choice. But, it was a different time. They actually gave us a cube of sugar, A CUBE OF SUGAR, with a pink dot of medicine on it. I think it was to prevent polio back then. Parents today would never go for that, but some are eliminating vaccinations all together and I don't see why.
I lost my first bread machine in a flood years ago and was adamant I HAD to have one, I needed to replace it right away. Got it! Then, it sat dust covered and dry rotting way up high on a shelf in my kitchen. Now that I'm in to tasting flavored Olive Oil and Vinegar from the Rustic Olive my home smells like fresh baked bread again!
I bought my first bottle of olive oil while on vacation in Door County, WI. I marinated, cooked and even drizzled it right from the bottle to my salad, absolutely loved the flavor! I was afraid I was going to have have it shipped to my home and end up paying a huge shipping fee. I was THRILLED to find the Rustic Olive in Duluth's Canal Park!
After years of alternating between two family favorite chili recipes, I've found a third. Surprisingly, it's made with hunks of pork and is super easy to make. I found the recipe from Taste of Home and tried it over the weekend. Here's three reason why I think you should try it too.
