So far we've learned that the worst US drought in 50 years will cause meat prices to rise and has even forced some ranchers to feed candy to their cattle. But now comes truly disturbing news from the UK's National Pig Association (who knew there was such a thing?): a worldwide bacon and sausage shortage may also be in the future.
September 25, 2012 I've seen the ads on TV for a while now, and finally decided to try it. A taco shell made out of Doritos? What could go wrong? So my co-host Cathy and I decided to go for a little drive over to Taco Bell to give it a try.
As the saying goes, nothing's more American than apple pie. But if a new list of the nation's top 10 favorite snack foods is any indication, it may soon be replaced by deliciously salty treats.

September 24, 2012 During the Vikings game yesterday I saw a commercial for KFC's new Chicken Littles. In a testament to advertising, I immediately wanted one, so I drove to the KFC.
I think it could have been the pickles that perked my interest. I love pickles, and the combination of fried chicken, pickles, and mayonaisse is delightful. However, there is one draw back to this sandwhich:

Seems like everyone I talk to is excited for Fall. Those of us that like it 80 and humid are a little sad, but I'm happy to know that fall cooking and baking is acceptable. (I make chili in July and get looked at like I'm nuts) The Apple festival is weeks away and the Duluth Lions Club are selling apples as a fundraiser. September 19, 2012 The tourists LOVE our North Shore Scenic Railroad. I wish that more locals would take time out of their busy lives to experience and enjoy the gem we have here in downtown Duluth. How lucky is our city to have "dining on the rails". Whether it's elegant, or pizza with the family. It's still a unique offering you don't have to travel miles to appreciate.

Success! All three Harold's Fiasco Events were a success! A huge thank you to Harold, his family, all of his dedicated friends and their countless hours of volunteerism, and of course those that attended and donated to the cause, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
