While we were filming Q an A Buffet, I had the opportunity to watch a Pizza being made, which I thought was kind of interesting. I know how to make a Pizza but to watch someone that does it for a living was quite fun.
Whenever Matt and I get together we talk about food, so this time was no different. We got together at Do North Pizza to talk Pizza, Food, and a cool Dessert. The owner, who claimed he was camera shy, keeps appearing on camera.
If you watched the Super Bowl you may have caught the McDonald's commercials introducing their new initiative to spread the love. They want to fill the world with more lovin' and less hatin' and a simple act of compassion or friendliness could mean a free meal to you.
Yesterday was one of those days where I said, screw eating healthy. I'm gonna get a whopper. So a friend and I went to Burger King down the street. We stood in line looking at the menu board with drool coming out of the corner of our mouths when we saw it: the FOUR CHEESE WHOPPER! Angels began to sing, I felt joy in my heart (or cholesterol), and a bright, heavenly light appeared. Four Cheeses on a whopper? What could go wrong?
I lost my first bread machine in a flood years ago and was adamant I HAD to have one, I needed to replace it right away. Got it! Then, it sat dust covered and dry rotting way up high on a shelf in my kitchen. Now that I'm in to tasting flavored Olive Oil and Vinegar from the Rustic Olive my home smells like fresh baked bread again!
If you've always been one to be a little different, one to go against the normal grain, then do I have a Taste of Home recipe for you! Instead of buffalo flavored wings at your Super Sunday party, make buffalo flavored meatballs!
I bought my first bottle of olive oil while on vacation in Door County, WI. I marinated, cooked and even drizzled it right from the bottle to my salad, absolutely loved the flavor! I was afraid I was going to have have it shipped to my home and end up paying a huge shipping fee. I was THRILLED to find the Rustic Olive in Duluth's Canal Park!
I can't believe I actually look forward to Harold's Wild Game Feed at the Carlton VFW now! The first time I was invited I had SUCH apprehension. I don't usually stray very far from the norm and Harold informed me that I was eating yak liver! But, this year I brought something to share and tasted almost everything offered, except the turtle.
I always look forward to the Empty Bowl Event! While I know it's designed to help fund the Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank, I can't help but feel that Spring is that much closer to reality. I also always enjoy adding another "Empty Bowl" pottery piece to my collection and the soup at the event is unique and delicious. They are already preparing for The Empty Bowl Event 2015!
The first time this commercial came on TV, it stopped me in my tracks. I actually stopped crocheting and was riveted to the images on the screen. Apparently so did the rest of America because now there is controversy surrounding the ad. Watch it here and let us know what you think.
