This is exciting! NBC will be in Duluth to film for the show called Curling Night In America. The filming will take place this Thursday through Saturday, December 1-3 and they are in need of extras of all ages while filming...
Please excuse my rant, but we are very lucky in the Northland to have several dog parks, nature trails and the Lakewalk to exercise our pets. It amazes me that so many pet owners either don't take pride in our scenic beauty or care about keeping it nice for others. This past weekend I found this, which is impressive for the dog's aim, but not impressive that it was left there by the owner for me to clean up.
There are snapshots of your life that will stick with you over the years. These images create a mental scrapbook in your mind going back as early as you can remember. In my mental scrapbook, K&B Drive in has it's own chapter. It was a very popular restaurant in it's day, and I remember many times visiting K&B over the years. It's very sad to see the building burn down, and it's hard to say goodbye to a place you grew up with.
The Northland is bursting with holiday spirit and so much to see for every person in the family. Sights, sounds, taste, arts and motion come together in an array of holiday favorites that will become must see traditions for the whole family...
Jeff Dunham has kicked off the second leg of his 'Perfectly Unbalanced' world wide tour that will bring him here to Duluth on January 11th. Jeff has entertained millions through is TV specials and DVDs.
This amazing photo explains why the the beach and Lakewalk in Canal Park were covered in rock, snow, ice and debris. Locals will recognize this as the lighthouse on the pier by the Aerial Lift Bridge. My friend and photographer, Marcie Crain took the photo at the height of the first storm of the season showing an angry Lake Superior. In my first video it showed the Lakewalk buried under rocks and debris and wondered how long the clean-up would take. The City of Duluth surprised me as you'll see the difference in my new video.
With the recent snowfall, snowmobile enthusiasts are itching to get out there and ride. The Minnesota DNR reminds riders, however, that trails are not yet ready for riding and don't officially open until December 1.
Cooking Thanksgiving dinner can be a stressful time as you move things in and out of the oven and keep track of all the dishes to make sure they are done to perfection. The biggest thing on your mind is probably making sure your turkey is cooked just right.
Thanksgiving brings many traditions to families across the Northland. One such tradition for my family involves the Gobble Gallop in downtown Duluth. It's grown year after year, and the Duluth Police Department has released a traffic advisory for the 2016 event.
