Saturday morning, the 26th Annual Fitgers 5K will take place in the downtown and Canal Park Areas in Duluth. With about 2,000 participants expected to participate, there will be some traffic delays associated with the event.
I have been a bone marrow donor for years with the "Be The Match" registry. I almost made a match a few years back too, but there is a series of tests they do to make sure you are a perfect match and one of our tests didn't match. I would love the opportunity to match someone and save a life!!!
I'm so excited for the annual Empty Bowl next Tuesday, April 14. I will be there to serve delicious soup to benefit Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank! It actually started months ago when adults and children in our community started putting time and talent into making the bowls.
If you're a fan of America's Got Talent, than you already know one of the performing acts at the Home & Builder's show at the DECC this week. The Willis Clan is a 12 member group of all siblings that have won over millions on TV. Here's their audition for America's Got Talent!
Spring break week in Duluth is April 6-10. While kids are looking forward to a break from school, parents are wondering what they're going to do to occupy their free time that will keep them from being a permanent fixture in front of the TV or video games. I'm sure people who don't read this blog will wonder if the city of Duluth neglected to pay their light bill when the Aerial Lift Bridge's lights go dark on Saturday. Truth of the matter is there's a very good reason for it and the community will be joining millions around the world!
I put it out and got an answer. Selfie stick girl is Adessa Nelson. She was in the front when Little Big Town reached down not once but twice to take some selfie pictures of the band. So what was the story?
It's a fun and busy week around here with Little Big Town coming to Duluth today and our popular "Pick Your Seat" contest starting Friday. Since I already did a Country Throwback featuring Little Big Town, I thought I'd focus on the Country Fest headliner we're taking you to see: Keith Urban.

The 2015 shipping season has officially started, and Drone Star was there to capture it. The "John G. Munson" became the first ship of the 2015 shipping season to depart Duluth. It reached the open waters of Lake Superior just before 5:30pm on March 23, 2015
