Without the Laveau Family in Wrenshall, I would never have experienced 4-H.  THANK YOU!  It's such a great program for kids to gain knowledge in so many areas of interest and even introduce them to new hobbies!  All camp activities are planned and supervised and will give your child a lifetime of memories.  If you qualify there is even busing and scholarships available. Get out and support local filmmakers tonight at the Manion Theatre in the Holden Fine and Applied Arts Center, located on the University of Wisconsin-Superior’s campus on Catlin Avenue.  The showcase is tonight from 7pm - 9pm and it's free and open to the public.

It's been almost a year since the horrendous flooding in our area last June and recovery efforts continue.  May is Arbor Month and May 15th will be Arbor Day in Duluth.  This year the focus will be planting seedlings and trees to aid in the flood recovery as we continue to rebuild in the Northland.

Before I went for my evening run last night, I read through the latest developments from the FBI and learned of the many heroes that weren't expecting that title on what was to be a day at the Boston Marathon.  As our thoughts continue to be with those that were affected physically and emotionally by the Boston Marathon bombings, many area runners are preparing for the Fitger's 5K, this Saturday.  Every year the Duluth Police Department provides a traffic advisory and I would wanted to share that with you to help plan the best route for your travel that day.
