I have SO many great memories of my daughter and I at the Duluth Children's Museum. It filled hours of Northland cold, windy, rainy weather days with exploration and learning (and little did Kylee know, since SHE was just having fun)! It's exciting to know that we have the fifth oldest children's museum in the country! The memories don't have to stop, they will just be made in a few different locations until a permanent location is completed.
Today I learned and was certified in how to administer CPR. It's something I've always wanted to learn, and thankfully our company brought in the YMCA to teach us. The class took a little over an hour, and we were also taught how to use the AED machines
In honor of St. Urho's Day, I thought I would enlighten some people about the Finnish people. Most of this stuff has been passed down to me by my father, aunt, and grandma, so if it's a little shady, it's there fault
The most funny part of this blog is the fact that it has something to do with math....it's math hard....and I suck at math!!! But, you can't deny that the date 3-14 IS the first three digits in the number pi!
The trend in recent years that led parents and teachers to boost children’s self-esteem by rewarding them for doing little other than breathing may soon be over, thanks to new research that says such actions are actually making kids less intelligent.
Giving a day of commemoration to one of the world's most instrumental civil rights leaders whose peaceful words and deeds contributed to a whole new understanding of equality and brotherhood seems like a no-brainer. Martin Luther King Day's history, however, was fraught with controversy and took years just to get on the federal government's official calendars.
My family LOVES Spritz cookies. My daughter, Kylee, LOVES Nutella, thanks to her Aunt Michaela. I can combine the two flavors together for a sweet holiday treat, thanks to Taste Of Home! My most difficult task will be trying to get the trees all the same size!!! Enjoy!
I was cleaning the basement this past week-end which meant going through my recipes and moving them and the cookbooks across the room. I came across a recipe I thought you'd enjoy making & eating because we can only find eggnog at this time of the year. I got the recipe from Sue, a B105 listener years ago. Sue, I still have it!!!! It's easy, yummy and a way to use up that jug of eggnog.
We appreciate the beauty of Lake Superior. We appreciate the revenue it generates from tourists and the shipping industry. How can we continue to benefit from our resource while keeping it free from storm and waste water overflow? The age of our water infrastructure has us wanting answers to questions we should have asked long ago. Learn more this Sunday, as Duluth is one of the communities highlighted in a documentary on this important topic.
