State Of Wisconsin Urges Caution During Storm And Flood Cleanup

Aerial Application to Eradicate Gypsy Moths In West Duluth Starts Tomorrow

The City of Superior has dealt with gypsy moths and emerald ash bore recently.  In fact my co-host Ken Hayes had to have a tree from his boulevard removed because of the threat.  Now the Minnesota Department of Agriculture says we need to treat 1,200 acres of land in the City of Duluth to slow the spread of a gypsy moth infestation.

FREE Life Jackets Offered For Kids And Teens By Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital And Kohl’s Cares

Minnesota law requires all children under the age of 10 to wear a life jacket on any boat or watercraft that is not docked.  Of course, for safety, life jackets are also recommended for children that are playing on shorelines and docks or near water.  With the number of lakes in our area, it only makes sense to make sure your child has his/her own life jacket and Essentia Health-St. Mary's Children's Hospital and Kohl's Cares is making that a bit easier by offering FREE life jackets.

I am so proud of the engineering class at Nashwauk-Keewatin!  It was an all hands on project that took a lot of imagination, planning and the donation of a snowmobile. High School Industrial Technology and Engineering Instructor, AJ Abate challenged his students and they delivered with flying colors, or we should say with a flying hovercraft!

DTA Suspends Some Routes To Local Colleges For The Summer

First things first, congratulations to our high school and college graduates.  Another mile stone reached to enhance your continued journey!  This past Saturday was a busy one for the canal park area and the DECC/Amsoil Arena.  UMD held it's commencement ceremonies for 2, 353 students.  The U-of Wisconsin Superior also had 356 students graduate on Saturday.  With our local colleges on summer break, the DTA is suspending some routes.
