Authorities Identify Victim of Carlton County Hit and Run; Suspect Is In Custody

The Carlton County Sheriff's Department has identified the injured victim of a hit and run Sunday morning. The victim, 43-year-old Michael Howard Norton, was hit while riding his bike at the intersection of Highway 61 and Rolling Road in Thompson Township.

With the public's help, they were also able locate and arrest the suspected driver of the car.

This past Tuesday, May 21st, Duluth Police officers and investigators with the Lake Superior Drug & Violent Crime Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2800 block of West 2nd Street. This warrant was part of an on-going heroin trafficking investigation. Four people were arrested, but their job is far from over.
