Just announced today, a new 12 mile natural gas line from north of Trego, WI to South of Minong. Most of the funds for the project is being invested by Link Snacks Inc, makers of Jack Link’s® Beef Jerky . The new pipeline is expected to serve area residents and businesses and provide them with an affordable and efficient energy source.

Senate Passes Synthetics Bill 64-0; Business Owners Selling Synthetic Drugs Will Face Jail Time

I don't think anyone doubts that Governor Mark Dayton will sign this bill. Synthetic drugs have been targeted for awhile and I think this type of legislation will become standard. They key to this bill is that new chemicals can be added to the bill over time, so as new synthetics get created, they can quickly become illegal to sell. That means places like Duluth's Last Place On Earth may find it difficult to work around this bill and sell synthetics.

We've seen the old gas stations closed down for years on the corner of 28th and Superior. I had heard rumors about their being a new CVS pharmacy being built there for quite some time.

Looks like it's getting started. I noticed on Thursday that the excavators were parked by the gas stations, and this morning they began demolishing the old buildings to make room for one of three new CVS pharmacy's coming to the Twin Ports.

While several elements of the economy, such as the housing market, are on the rebound, some companies are still adapting their business model. I would think the Duluth store would be safe as that Best Buy store is really the only of its kind in the community. That's not to say there's no competition for the goods and services it does sell. As this story states, I think we will see less of this huge stores and more smaller specialty stores where you can get some training and other one on one things.
