5 weeks ago I previously mentioned how if you're a fan of the World War Z book by Max Brooks, you shouldn't give up on the Brad Pitt movie. Well apparently I was wrong. The second trailer strays even further from the book, and this looks like a pile of crap. I hate to say it, because I would have loved to see the actual story of the book made into a movie. Not this one man saves the day kind of crap.

5 weeks ago I chose the Desert Rose Band as my Solid Gold Pick of the Week the beginning of this month. One of their songs you would be most familiar with is "Love Reunited". It was a release from their the bands self-titled album in 1987. The group had disbanded, but after their publicist read my blog, he contacted me and guess what? They are back together for a reunion tour!!!!
5 weeks ago Cathy informed me yesterday that we will be interviewing Kellie Pickler this Wednesday morning. I'm a little nervous. Ok, so I'm actually freaking out. What am I going to ask her? What am I going to say? Will I freeze up and say something stupid, or blurt out "You have a pretty face!"
April 22, 2013 Today I woke up like any other Earth Day, not realizing that it's Earth Day. I mean, it's something we really don't look forward to unless your big into planting trees. So I thought back on how I've mistreated the earth this last year. It's almost always by accident, but still it wasn't good for the environment. I'm not a litterer, and I recycle... most of the time. But here are some things I'm sorry about.
1. My boat motor. It's old, it leaks, and it's not good for the lakes. I've tried and actually improved it, but man it's spilled its fair share of gas.
April 20, 2013 Our birthday boy this week is Roy Clark, he turned 80 on Monday. We had the opportunity to get to know Roy well when he hosted the nationally televised country variety show "Hee Haw" from 1962-1971, but continued in syndication for another 20 years. He has been an influence in Country music and his telegenic presence proved he is an all around entertainer.

While training for Grandma's Half Marathon (which has been very difficult with the snow we've gotten so late in the Spring), we park in the Canal and run across the Aerial Lift Bridge and down the Point all the time. It never occurred to me that there could be potential danger lurking above me, other than from the pigeons. I'm still planning on using one of our City's icons, but we'll definitely be cautious. Thanks to the City for watching out for us!

April 19, 2013 We have the Big Bang Theory DVD series so I haven't been watching the most recent seasons. I caught it last night on TV and I was shocked to find out Howard was married and an astronaut. Penny and Leonard were dating and Sheldon, well...he hadn't changed much (and I'm glad). During this particular episode, Howard suggests we youtube "Astronaut Screams for Nine Minutes" and like everyone else, I did.
