Veteran's Day is one of the greatest American holiday, because we get to celebrate those who have and are still serving our country. It's one of the greatest sacrifices; these men and women are leaving their loved ones to risk their lives for us. For that, we give them a sincere thank you.
November 7, 2012 Animal Allies will have cats and dogs available for adopting at Miller Hill Subaru this Saturday and Sunday from 11am-4pm. There will be no fee cat & kitten adoptions, $125 dog adoptions, Holiday Pet Photos by Duluth Camera Exchange, and free micro-chipping with a donation to the Animal Allies wish list.
November 7, 2012 This week again we talked to Sarah from Animal Allies about what is going on at the shelters in Duluth and Superior, including a special adoption event this weekend at the Miller Hill Subaru. She also brought up our pet of the week Frappe. She's a lovable friendly, energetic, older Labrador retriever.
Few things brighten our day more than puppies. They're troopers when it comes to adorably tortuous makeovers, after all. OK, so they might not be superfans of unfortunate haircuts or miniature shoes. But we've discovered something dogs really enjoy-- celebrating their birthdays. What's not to love about party hats and cupcakes made out of dog food and blowing out candles and noisemakers?! Our point exactly.

October 17, 2012 Pandora is a cute and lovable cat that we talked about this morning on the Breakfast Club. Anna, lead adoption counselor, described Pandora as a very friendly cat. And now, with the "9 lives 9 dollars' promotion, Pandora's fee is only 9 bucks!
October 16, 2012 Wolf hunters that were selected from the wolf hunt lottery must purchase their license by October 24th, otherwise those unclaimed licenses will go up for sale. At this point, the Minnesota DNR has sold 1,155 of the 3,600 wolf licenses made available.

October 10, 2012 Sarah from Animal Allies today told us some great things about Ripley, a golden retriever lab mix. Ripley is this weeks featured animal as part of October being "Adopt A Dog Month." All dog adoption fees at Animal Allies have been reduced by $25. Here's a little info on Ripley:
October 9, 2012 Growing up here in the Northland, I never really was exposed to pheasant hunting. I had been partridge hunting (which is different) and other small game hunting too. When I lived in Southern MN for a few years, I was introduced to Pheasant hunting, and found it's a trip worth taking.
As many an unlucky motorist knows, deers don't always have the proper respect for fast moving objects.
